Login Forms
This should be standard practice, since it’s so easy: tell the user whether it is their username or their password that is incorrect when the login fails. I’m sure most people are checking both at once, but it’s not that hard to first check if the username exists. I don’t think that I’m alone in having lots of usernames and passwords; I’m bound to forget which one I used for sites that I don’t visit often.
