Steampunk? Christian Bale? Hugh Jackman? Director Christopher Nolan (Momento, Batman Begins)? David Bowie as Nicola Tesla? Count me in!

Angel-A

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

I just saw Angel-A and I really enjoyed it. It might be a tad bit too sentimental for some, but I loved it. Great actors and lovely photography. See it.

Banlieue 13

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

I just saw Banlieue 13 yesteday (apparently it came out in France in 2004 but it just came out here now) and was quite impressed. Sure it’s an action movie but it’s quite good, especially with all the parcours action. Also, for such a cynical movie it has a quite uplifting ending.

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Daryl Hanah has a video blog. Strange.

Hotel Rwanda

Sunday, February 27th, 2005

So I finally saw Hotel Rwanda on Friday night. Wow. I highly recommend the movie. Everyone’s been talking about Don Cheadle’s performance but Sophie Okonedo and Nick Nolte also have very good performances.

Control Room

Saturday, October 23rd, 2004

I saw _Control Room_ last night at Doc Films (best campus theater in the nation, bar none). It’s an amazing and touching documentary which will definitely make you think about the US invasion of Iraq and the relationship between the US and the Middle East. I recommend this movie to everyone. The DVD is coming out in a few days, so there’s always Netflix.
